The Importance of Supervision

Abstract:
This article is a reflection on my extended and rewarding experience of supervision. Through having a nourishing and challenging first experience of supervision I was able to be supported in the very demanding environment of a residential therapeutic community for people who had come out of psychiatric hospital. It was not only the individual supervision I had, but the ethos of the staff team which made sure my supervision time was protected, and built in as part of team supervision (staff dynamics).
